KiwiRail Freight is New Zealand’s rail freight mover.
With a rail network extending the length and breadth of the country, we have New Zealand covered with a range of services and products that provide a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way to move freight.
We've invested in new locomotives, wagons and specialised equipment to deliver a significant improvement in rail's capacity and ability to deliver reliably, on time.
KiwiRail line-haul services operate from several convenient locations around the country, backed up by customer service-teams available around the clock. We also work with national distribution companies to provide container pick-up and delivery, door to door.
KiwiRail offers a broad range of services and works with customers to meet their changing freight transport needs. We offer services in three key markets:
- Long distance transport of domestic goods between major centres.
- Moving import/export goods to and from major ports.
- Transporting bulk commodities such as coal, milk, logs and steel.
