We appreciate the amazing job truck drivers do in keeping New Zealand supplied and moving. It is not an easy job - long periods away from home, traffic, roadworks, and the odd bumpy ferry ride! It is hard to find time for normal activities such as regular health checks.
We have partnered with NZI and their team of Fleet Risk Managers to host two NZI Truckie Rest Zones at our Picton and Wellington terminals on 5 and 6/7 March. NZI Truckie Rest Zones have been running regularly over the last eighteen months to raise awareness of driver fatigue - a major cause of road accidents.
The NZI team will be on hand to provide advice on managing fatigue and staying safe on the road. Hato Hone St John Ambulance and Wellington Free Ambulance staff will also be available for blood pressure checks and to answer health questions. There will be free coffee and food to help the conversation.
If you or any of your drivers are booked to sail with us on these sailings next week, keep an eye out for the NZI marquee by the CV cabins in Picton and near the baggage pick up area in Wellington.
